Information about this lot
Why is this lot here?
We posted this lot because:
Such a beautiful place with so much potential. I visited recently and noticed areas of improvement. Excited for garden restoration I began to imagine what could be. I was formally introduced to the garden and respectfully so I am so thankful. I began to uproot weeds immediately and noticed some beautiful arrangements. Being actively involved with collaborative community efforts brings me a wealth of joy. I look forward to furthering the efforts of this garden and beautifying what now exists. The 133rd Street Garden, "SWING STREET" Garden has absolutely been a pleasure thus far. Much more to come.

The best way could be, of course, to just say hi when you see people in the garden and ask how to get involved! But if you never see people there, and/or if it seems there's not a group if neighbors currently gardening there, here's another idea:
This is a garden in the NYC Parks' GreenThumb network, so the public employee who is the outreach coordinator for that part of the city should be able to help you. Contact info below. Your can call and ask if he can help you join, if he can put you in touch with the stewards so you can join, or if there are no active stewards, find out how he can help you get started up again. It's on GreenThumb's map under a different name (133rd Swing Street Garden) so you can ask about it using both, and of course the location.

A third idea is you can put a sign on the fence letting people know you want to join the garden group and asking them to get in touch with you if you suspect that there is a group of neighbors that run it, but who you haven't seemed to catch yet.
Let us know how it goes!
Hi, is there anyone in charge of this garden? I’d love to volunteer to help revitalize it. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org
On Saturday, May 14th from 11 am to 1 pm., NYC Parks Department GreenThumb will facilitate a meeting of neighbors who want to revive this garden together. It will be a great opportunity to see and hear from other community members interested in reviving this space as a community garden.
& help spread the word!
A note about this garden-designated lot from February 2016, written by a NYC Parks GreenThumb staff person:
"Margrichantie Memorial Garden is currently inactive. GreenThumb will soon have a general interest meeting in the spring for community members interested in working collectively to manage this space. We’ll post signs on the garden in advance of this meeting.
Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions.
