Information about this lot
Political Boundaries
Why is this lot here?
We think this lot is vacant because:
Government Agency
Housing Preservation and Development is not granting interim licenses now. The only way to have the community access this lot is by getting it transferred to another agency. Look below for Pathways that will guide you.
You can call Mr. Weinstein at the number listed above and find out if there are any plans for this lot. He's the Director of Planning for HPD in the Bronx. It's best to call him on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Urban Renewal
This lot is part of the South Bronx urban renewal plan.

mortgage but no deed
Just checked in with Mary from Every Day is A Miracle. She contacted Vivan (see not below) but Vivian didn't have any information. I called Mr. Weinstein back but left a lengthy message with his secretary. Waiting to hear back from him to see if he has any info on how to access this lot.
Got a call from Maria who works at Every Day Is A Miracle, a nonprofit nearby this lot that runs a health program and a food pantry. They would love to build on this lot - create space in a bottom floor for their org to host afterschool programs that focus on nutrition education, and the rest of the building to host affordable housing.
I looked through HPD's contact list online and gave her the info for Assistant Commissioner, Property Management & Client Services - Vivian Louie

She'll let me know if this was someone helpful or not!
Lily is waiting to hear back from Mr. Weinstein. We need all the neighbors who are also interested in this space to keep calling too!
