In the Draft Edgemere Neighborhood Plan, this is a housing site. Although construction is likely years away, Housing Preservation and Development plans to hold on to the land.

The plan includes "at least two new community gardens" but does not indicate where they will be.

They are also exploring the creation of a Community Land Trust for housing in this neighborhood and it seems that whatever is built here in the future could be included.

Hear about HPD's Draft Plan on Saturday, September 24, 11am to 2pm at the 41St Cornerstone Community Center (426 Beach 40th Street). This will be the last community workshop. The draft plan will be presented then.

We put a sign on this lot yesterday (THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND) and talked to some neighbors. They'd love to have a garden, or a bike park. We're looking forward to working with them to make some dreams real.

We labeled this lot yesterday and spoke with a man named Keith who lives across the street. He would LOVE to help put a garden here.

This morning I left a message for Ms. Farrell at HPD inquiring about using this space.
