This building was once intended as public bathrooms. I walked in one day in November 2016 when the door was open. There was a Parks employee there who told me the bathrooms are not working and it is used to store equipment from the nearby tennis courts. I saw tennis court gear being stored.

I was told in December 2016 by a man who claims to have been walking his dogs there for 17 years that the reason the bathrooms do not work is that the cesspool under the circle in front of the building is filled and causes the toilets to back up.

For a good part of the year there are portable toilets located here. I witnessed four in 2016, though at times there were only three.  They were all gone on Dec 10 2016. I am told they will return in May.

This url gives instructions for getting here if you are coming directly from Washington Heights.

I have done the portion of this route described as returning which begins about 2/3 down the page.

The easiest way is to get here via the Greenway.
