Notes from Beth Bingham who led our Parks Inventory work this summer:

Franz Sigel closed Comfort Station

The closed comfort station at Franz Sigel Park was identified by a Bronx resident and activist, Joyce Hogi. Joyce is active with the Bronx Council for Environmental Quality, a group that is advocating for the completion of the promised Mill Pond Park expansion along the Harlem River at the Pier 5 site. She is also part of a nascent Parks coalition that has recently come together to work towards improving a group of four parks located near the southern portion of the Grand Concourse. Joyce is interested in bringing the group together to bring attention to the long-closed comfort station located on the western side of the park, near Walton Ave.
